As you may have noticed, a lot of my Bottom Forty posts are intertwined with my blog, Disco Droppings. I’m an evangelist for the artists I feature, through blog features, DJ sets and in conversation with friends. Brooklyn’s Sleepyhead first came to me through Mirror State, a producer based in Australia with a show on Sub.Fm. One day I was tuned into their streaming app, and caught him playing “Nothing Changes”, off Sleepyhead’s My Lyf / Together release on Embassy Recordings. It’s a deep and hypnotizing song, one that really stays with me. He’s also got the fantastic Motions EP on Trouble & Bass. Love the warmth and depth in Sleepyhead’s productions. “Late Nights” is available for free download, just click on the track name in the Soundcloud player..
