Where are you based:
I am based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
1. Why do you play music?
I have always played music for as long as I can remember. From playing the piano, and violin for 11 years during my childhood, along with classical music theory, playing music came at an early age. Why do I do it now? To continue my passion to bring the best music my eclectic tastes to an equally intelligent and varied audience.
2. What do you see as your role in the music world going into the future?
This year I celebrate 20 years as a DJ. I started when I was 18 in London. As time moves on, I see my role moving more towards remixing and production as well as expanding with my new techno-alter ego into performing live with a greater range of styles.
3. Favorite label or artist from the past year?
There have been so many labels and artists of interest, I have been truly overwhelmed with new names and labels. One that truly sticks in my mind is “Tale of Us” and their techno productions. Emotional, moody, romantic techno that feels lovingly crafted as it is a cold, industrial sound.
4. What are you looking forward to most this year?
I’m looking forward to another crazy summer traveling. I’ll be heading back to the United States for three weeks in May covering four cities, San Francisco, Seattle, Fort Lauderdale and Chicago, leaving on Monday, arriving Tuesday morning back in Frankfurt, then leaving again Wednesday for a week in Tel-Aviv for Pride. Life on the wing can be a lot of fun. Tiring, but fun!
5. What do you like to wear to bed?
I don’t wear anything to bed. J

Growing up on an eclectic diet of country music provided by his parents’ record collection, Kobalt Severa is hard to pin down musically. Inspired by his brother’s love of eclectic music and tastes, Kobalt, began making mixes as a creative outlet. It was only a few years later that Kobalt dove head first into House Music and began performing at local house parties, basements and abandoned warehouses.
Now a regular fixture of Seattle’s nightlife/club scene Kobalt has shared the stage with such well-known and beloved DJs such as Colby B, Derek Pavone, Almond Brown, Spaceotter, Brian Lyons, Karl Kamakahi, LA Kendall and Nark.
2015 looks to be a busy year for Kobalt with his first residency at local hot spot The Eagle and as he continues to work on making more music. Look for Kobalt coming to a dance floor near you soon.

Hey kids, I hope your New Year has been crack-a-lacking so far!
About seven months ago, I started a new party at the Seattle Eagle where I play nothing but techno, acid and electro. I stepped up to the challenge and left all my disco at home and brought everything else. Following is my latest mix from the night, and boy oh boy is there some fire in here! Downloads enabled, enjoy!

DJ Chris Camplin is a resident of Handsome which is monthly party at East Bloc, London. Chris is a classically trained pianist whose stylistic roots go back to the drum and bass, garage, house & techno of the late nineties, where artists as diverse as Jeff Mills, Masters at Work, DJ Hype and Zed Bias provided the soundtrack to his formative years. During his teens Christopher was deeply involved with London’s underground club scene – where he carried out promotional work for Trade, DTPM and Nag Nag Nag. He was influenced by the disco revival as pioneered by Horse Meat Disco, and his love of house and techno matured as he travelled to Ibiza’s infamous DC10, Space, Bora Bora and Berlin’s Berghain where he heard a complexity of dance music that inspired him to become a DJ. He has now played gigs in Berlin, Spain & Italy, Secret Garden Party, LoveBox & Eastern Electrics.

Last time I saw Juan Ramos I was wandering the halls of Berghain basically spanging for change or a drink, after having spent every last euro I had in my short (according to locals) 12 hours of time in that maze of sex drugs and techno. It’s only fitting that the next time I see his face would be smattered across the internet via the release of his EP The Mariner. The tracks offer up an interesting combination of spacey softness and gut punching techno jabs, creating a versatility from home to headphones to dance floor to that sunrise moment. It’s also another great addition to the new and queer, but certainly flexing their underground quality, Friends With Benefits Records, run by the Two Dudes in Love (David Sternesky and Mathew Dos-Santos) as well as Trevor Sigler.
“With ties to both the European techno-elite and the American brotherhood of queer dance floor preservationists, Juan Ramos is an extraordinarily talented producer and DJ who is poised on the tipping point of international acclaim. On his debut EP ‘The Mariner (For G.G.),’ available on Friends With Benefits Records, Juan Ramos plays with organic polyrhythms that also pack a visceral punch, swaying brazenly into rollicking techno. His ethereal textures and effortlessly rising and falling melodies are punctuated by dissonant cacophonies that heighten both tension and release. ”

A psychedelic scorcher from Rhines of the Innerflight crew, his live closing set from closing our recent Seattle party with Elite Force (Stereophoenix, One Series, DISTRIKT, London UK). If you missed it…I’m sorry. It was really, really good. Elite Force smashed it and Rhines in came in with acid to dissolve the pieces.

Wes Baggaley was found abandoned in a field somewhere in the north of England in the mid 70’s and raised on a diet of lipstick and eye shadow by a pack of transvestite wolves. At the age of 12 the feral tranny Wes was captured by a group of leather clad homosexuals and forced to listen to nothing but Hi-Nrg and disco for 4 years. When he finally escaped at the age of 16, he was picked up whilst hitch-hiking by a group of bug-eyed ravers and taken to the Hacienda. That evening the DJ collapsed from a poppers overdose and Wes jumped over the DJ booth and played the best set the clubbers at the Hacienda had ever heard in their lives. Rumour has it, Wes invented acid house in the late 80’s trying to communicate by emulating the sound of the wolves howls and the disco and hi-nrg music as these are the only noises he had ever heard. Wes is still unable to speak proper English so instead he communicates through the medium of acid house and techno at various sleazy, poppers fuelled parties around the U.K. such as Hotwired, Recon, Little Gay Brother and Tranarchy.
