Seattle’s Innerflight crew is making moves. They just hosted their last DROP party at the soon-to-be closed Electric Tea Garden with DJ Markie from SF’s (truly, no fooling) legendary Wicked crew–now moving to second Saturdays at the Monkey Loft in SoDo. And today, their associated label, Innerflight Music, released Centrikal’s “Faze” EP, full of the spacey bloopy techno beauty you would expect from the eclectic Innerflight crew. Count me in.

My take: Rhines is a Seattle underground dance music treasure. A transplant from Southern California, where he worked until a few years back with the Ninja Skillz crew and at Simply Jeff’s DJ Culture record store in LA, Rhines (aka SPON.10.80 when he produces tracks) helped found Seattle’s highly respected Innerflight crew with Kadeejah Streets and J-Sun, along with the Flight Deck podcast and Innerflight Music record label. He’s made his primary performance home at Innerflight’s programmatically diverse monthly DROP parties, with Kadeejah, J-Sun and co-residents Manos, Audrey Horne and Night Train, as well as at a number of other events. Innerflight’s DROP party recently re-located from their former home at the LoFi Performance Space to second Saturdays at the Electric Tea Garden, and will be hosting west coast rave legend Jëno from SF’s Wicked crew this weekend, by the way.
