Booka Shade – Blackout White Noise EP

Germany’s Booka Shade have been releasing well-crafted tech-house since 1995. A friend turned me onto them with their 2006 release Movements. I was struck at how precise yet warm and human their sound was. The album flowed nicely and carried a narrative throughout the entire listen.

Their latest release “Blackout White Noise” features vocals by Chelonis R. Jones. The EP also includes two previously released tracks “Glory Box” and “Karrera”, the latter is a sonic mind-fuck techno jammer (headphones required). And lastly a remix of the title track which strips the vocals and leaves an atmospheric beat that is just hypnotizing.

Booka Shade comes to North America next month for only 6 dates, make sure to catch them in a city near you..
