Living just north of the birthplace of House music, Milwaukee native Asher Diamonds takes his inspiration from the classic sounds of Chicago & Detroit as well as the rich Disco and Boogie culture of the 1980’s. Blending the new with the old he creates music that not only pays homage to the godfathers but also takes steps towards new musical horizons.

80’s Flashback

Written by
June 21, 2013

This track is quintessential funkee-electro-boogie from 1984. Released on the independent label Pizazz out of New York, Pamela Joy’s “Think Fast” is superb.

Primarily a hit on the east coast in black clubs, the bass line, keyboards and rhythm sticks to you. It has all the elements that I looked (bass&rhythm) for in that vein of 122-124 bpm range to bring those dancin’ folks down, and we all know how close we get before heading home. Enjoy.
