OK, so what we have here is the third installment from Joey Negro‘s imprint Z Records. The previous editions of UTI were compiled by Red Greg and Paul Phillips respectively.
Volume 3 brings us a very rare collection of dusty disco and eccentric electo jams. Glass selects oddities like Wayne/Jayne County‘s Backing band The Electric Chairs to the funky stomper “Do The Beat” by Sweet Talks.

“For the newest edition of Under The Influence I’ve tried to do what all the DJs who have influenced me did; that is, pick a selection of genres and create a dialog between the disparate tracks. This is never an easy thing to do, but when I’m DJing my primary aim is to entertain, with styles, in style and without alienating anyone.”
Glass was born and raised in London, but now lives in San Francisco and plays out every now and again. Let’s hope we can get him up to Seattle for a lesson in rare grooves and pre-house jams.
