Headed For Mental Overdrive

As I wandered through the discography of R&S Records, I came across Mental Overdrive. I took note of this artist, whose productions sat in a distinct place. More searching led me to his releases on Love OD Communications. Tracks like “Fifth Night Of The Galactic Underworld”, “Mnster”, “The Chase”, “The End” and “Disto Disco” (all Original Mixes) are now in my possession. Per Martinsen is behind this music, and he’s an influential musician from Norway. Some call him the Godfather of Norwegian Techno.

He has released music since 1990, on R&S, Virgin, Smalltown Supersound and his own label, Love OD Communications. I can feel a journey pulsing through this man’s music. It is that, along with the intriguing sounds and rhythms that draw me to including Mental Overdrive in my DJ sets lately.
