Bio: Lady Blacktronika is an endlessly breaking wave of soulful sound. Her prolific productions, live mixes and podcasts have earned her the near-universal acknowledgement as “the first lady of beatdown house,” while Resident Advisor more recently described her as “the first lady of deep house.” She recently concluded a European tour including stops at Panorama Bar in Berlin, Loving Deep in London, as well as performances at Honey Soundsystem in SF, CubScout in LA and a private performance in Medellin, Columbia. A self-described black transwoman, she has had entries on respected podcasts like the Honey Soundsystem Potcast and Modyfier, is the creator of Cocaine Records, Sound Black Recordings & Sound Kemystry labels, with multiple tracks on Beatport and Juno.

What do you see as your role in the music world going into the future?
Pioneer, trouble maker, love maker, bottle breaker. I want to continue to push forward with new sounds and lots of love in a world full of so much pain.
